Banning political parties is fascism at its best
In a real democracy there is no need to ban political parties
In a democracy freedom of speech is the most cherished of freedoms

We all pretend to be afraid of a few psychotic children
This is how we present it to the rest of the world
What we really fear is ourselves
We all know that we have the potential to repeat our history

The truth is we ban political parties out of desperation
We were afraid to do what was really needed in the beginning
Instead we give them exactly what they ask for
We want to change the asylum laws
By our actions we tell them they are right

We pretend to be outraged by the violence
But there are also the silent ones
Their silence says more than words
They wait for the skinheads to terrorize the entire foreign population
And hope the foreigners will all leave Germany in fear

The real answer to Germany’s problem is to liberalize the laws
We need to make it easier to become full participants in the system
Foreigners need to vote in all elections and hold political positions
We need to open ourselves to other cultures and customs
Incorporating them into ours

We are about to enter the twenty-first century
The Germany of the future is a Germany of many races and cultures
As is the Europe of the future
It is time for the insidious voice of European nationalism to be silenced
Our choice is to embrace the future or be swallowed by it
